The End of Australia

This is likely to be the last post from this sunny land. Yesterday I went up to Port Adelaide and spent some time among the historic properties up there, then rode my bike back here (total of 62 km). Today is too hot to go very far, so I walked a bit around this area, and followed a historic walk from the Tourist Bureau. Some pictures of what has been the past few days.

This is the jetty at Henley's Beach. A beautiful and pretty uncrowded area of sand about 18 km from the centre of the city.

This is the beach area, with lots of people flying kites. It was also wonderful.

A Pelican we saw along the bike ride to the beach.

Back in Adelaide, one of the housing projects from the 1860's. A bit different from those we see in Canada today. Some of these are still used as housing, and some as office space.

So tomorrow is my last day. Haven't decided what to do yet. maybe bike, maybe go to the Writer's Festival, maybe walk, and maybe read. And yes, I have to pack my stuff sometime during the day. Then off to the airport on Wednesday morning, for a long trip home.
