Of course, we had to eat by this time, so went into the hotel which is the larger building in the lower picture, and had a reasonable lunch watching out over the beach and promenade.
Then we went down to the beach, shoes off, and put our legs into the fairly warm water of the Southern Ocean. Some walking, some sitting on the seawall, and, for Darlene, some collecting of stones and shells. It was a bit chilly and windy (how fast we get used to the heat: it was probably 22 degrees!). But we persevered.
Then back to the city to show Darlene where I had stayed six years ago with Joel, at the corner of Angas and Pulteney Streets.

And finally, catching the tram back to the hotel for a quiet remainder of the night.
